Sydney City Psychology are clinical psychologists. We help adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and other emotional pain such as hurt, sadness, anger, negative thinking, worry, low motivation, low self-esteem, low confidence and who are struggling with situations at work, home, or in their relationships.

Supervision

Supervision is available for therapists who are interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness based therapies and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Therapy

Sometimes life is difficult and coping with the challenges it presents is hard. Our minds get clouded and we make choices that seem to get us nowhere.

Firstly, we will help you work out what is important to you. Secondly we will teach you skills to stop your depression, anxiety, emotional pain and negative thinking getting in the way of doing the things you care about.

Sydney City Psychology provides individual therapy and couples therapy. The therapeutic approach is tailored to the needs of the client but therapies used are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

Training and Workshops

Sydney City Psychology provides training and workshops for the general public, organisations and professionals interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

We also provide training in other life skills such as Assertiveness, Conflict Resolution, Anger Management, Mindfulness Training, Communication Skills.

We are specialists in clinical psychology which allows us to provide faster, more effective treatment outcomes. We are fully qualified and registered, adhere to strict ethical guidelines and stay up to date with the most current research and treatments.

Natalie Glaser

Natalie is a Clinical Psychologist who has 18 years’ experience working with adults, adolescents and couples. Natalie has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including drug and alcohol rehabilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, The University of New South Wales, the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia and The Victims of Crime Tribunal.

Aspasia Karageorge

Aspasia completed her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney, as well as a Master’s degree in psychology from the University of Otago. In addition, she has over 12 years experience as a researcher and project manager of various clinical trials. Aspasia’s clinical experience includes working with children and adults of all ages who are experiencing challenges in areas including anxiety, mood and depression, psychosis, relationships, personality, self-esteem, and adjustment to challenging life events. She takes a client-centered approach to therapy, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and psychoanalytic approaches. Aspasia has a special interest in working with longstanding difficulties related to early life trauma.

Brittany Ager

Brittany completed her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney. Brittany has over 5 years experience working in psycho-oncology research. Brittany’s clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, mood, disordered eating, problem gambling and adjustment to chronic illness. Brittany has experience working in community and hospital settings including the Gambling Treatment Clinic (USYD), Rivendell Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and the Kinghorn Cancer Centre (St Vincent’s Hospital).

Jaymee-lee Owen

Jaymee completed a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology and a PhD investigating Internet-based treatments for problem gambling at the University of Sydney. Her clinical interests and experience include working with children, adolescents and adults who may experience difficulties with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, disordered eating, problem gambling, drug and alcohol use and schizophrenia. Jaymee has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings in Sydney, including, Gambling Treatment Clinic, Fairfield Community Health Centre, and Cumberland Hospital. Jaymee is a kind, warm and empathetic therapist who utilises a strong formulation to help guide the necessary evidence-based treatment for every client.

Dr Keith Johnson Neuropsychiatrist

Dr Keith Johnson completed his training in Psychiatry in 2015. He was awarded the NSW Institute of Psychiatry Fellowship in Intellectual Disability Mental Health in 2011 and did further training in Learning Disabilities in the United Kingdom. During that time, Dr Johnson worked at the National Brain Injury Centre and The National Epilepsy Society in the UK. Dr Johnson then completed the Master of Sleep Medicine at the University of Sydney in 2016. Dr Johnson worked as a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist and Liaison Psychiatrist at Wollongong Hospital where he established a neuropsychiatry clinic with the Illawarra Brain Injury Service (IBIS). Dr Johnson is currently working at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research and completing a Doctor of Philosophy in the area of chronic insomnia.

Samantha Joplin

Samantha completed her Doctor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney and is currently in the final stages of a PhD. Samantha’s clinical experience includes working with individuals of all ages experiencing difficulties relating to mood, complex trauma, self-harm, depression/anxiety, personality disorders, and psychoses. Samantha has many years’ clinical and research experience in working with children over 6 years of age and their families. Samantha also has an interest in working with individuals adjusting to new life circumstances, including grief (i.e. complex/prolonged), role transitions, stressful life events, and navigating interpersonal difficulties (such as dealing with workplace, relationship, or family dynamics effectively). Samantha is a warm and empathic therapist, who adopts a tailored, evidence-based approach driven by a thorough formulation of the client’s difficulties.

Alexander McLennan

Alexander completed his Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of the Sunshine Coast. He has a broad range of experience, including work in mental health assertive outreach, addiction, and the Australian Army. Alexander is skilled in a range of effective therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Meta-Cognitive Therapy (MCT), Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness. Alexander takes an individualised approach in his work, explaining the therapy options for each individual and tailoring a program accordingly. Alexander’s areas of special interest are Anxiety, Trauma and Autism Spectrum Disorder. He has experience assisting with a wide range of concerns, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anger issues, various phobias, insomnia, depression and psychosis.
