Alan Hely

Alan has over 30 years’ experience working as a psychologist with individuals and teams. Alan’s areas of interest and experience include sport & performance psychology, the psychology of bullying and workplace stress, working with elite athletes and veterans, alcohol and substance use, life stress events and personal development, workplace accident and disaster support, and PTSD. Alan is trauma-informed and can use EMDR therapy. With sportspeople, he works to address skill acquisition, behaviour change, motivation, confidence, emotional control, concentration, yips, choking, and overall performance.

Alan has a unique combination of knowledge and experience in both psychology and the real world workforce. He is registered with the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) as an accredited provider to Work Cover clients, and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s Disaster Response Network.

Alan works with individuals from high school age and above through focused individualised evidence-based modalities.His particular interest in sport performance psychology is informed by 12 years experience in Sport Psychology private practice where he worked with an Americas’ Cup Yacht Crew, Olympic Cross Country (Nordic) Skiers, Thredbo Ski School, the Phil Dent Tennis Academy, an “18 Foot” sailing team, South Sydney Rugby League club, as well as many professional players in tennis and golf to improve their performance. He has also conducted research within Sport, Exercise and Performance psychology. Alan’s career also includes working in the Vietnam Veterans Counselling Service, Corrections psychology, the provision of psychological services to veterans and current serving military personnel through the Department of Veterans Affairs “Open Arms” counselling service, working with individuals affected by the 2020 NSW bushfires, as well as research.

Angel Lee-Aube

Angel is a clinical psychologist. She holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from Australian Catholic University and a Master of Science in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from the University of London. Angel has been a practising psychologist since 2008, across public, forensic and private settings. Her experience and interests include ADHD and Autism evaluation and treatment, perinatal mental health, complex trauma, and personality disorders. Angel uses the modalities of dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), EMDR, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), attachment theory and psychodynamic psychotherapy in her practice. Angel also provides psychological testing and assessment for diagnostic and forensic purposes.

Angel’s therapeutic approach is best described as conversational, informal and non-judgemental. Combined with her clinical knowledge in evidence-based models of psychological assessment and therapy, Angel uses the psychodynamics in session to model empathy, mindfulness, effective communication, self-compassion and curiosity – values that she helps clients expand beyond the therapy room into everyday life. Angel can provide assessments and therapy in Cantonese.

Carly O’Sullivan

Carly completed her Master of Clinical Psychology at the Australian National University. Her interests and clinical experiences include working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficulties with work and study stress, depression, anxiety, body image, relationships and sexual health, LGBTQIA+ issues, ADHD, Autism, and other forms of neurodiversity. Her approach is holistic and compassion-focused. Carly utilises evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and EMDR.

Her work is supported by a social justice framework, which has informed her work with individuals from diverse backgrounds including individuals with diverse cultural, linguistic, neurological and social needs. Her work can also informed by Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), trauma approaches, attachment theory, and ADHD coaching, based on the needs of the client.

Carly is happy to deliver services face-to-face or via Telehealth services (Zoom or phone call). She also runs a 10-week group teaching mindful self-compassion skills to address anxiety, stress, overwhelm and to increase resilience and mitigate burnout and other mental health concerns.

Gabriela Piper

Gaby has over 20 years’ experience in assessment and therapy with adults, adolescents, children and their families, and can provide support in English and Spanish / Español. She is experienced in supporting people to address relationship difficulties, sexual problems, addictions, ADHD, depression and anxiety, phobias, trauma and complex trauma, and social skills challenges. She uses CBT, attachment-based family systems, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprograming (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), ADHD coaching, parenting supports and coaching, and skills training approaches. Gaby is a qualified facilitator of a range of parenting groups, including in foster care contexts. Her family and parenting work includes support for school refusal, risk taking, oppositional and challenging behaviours, relationship and conflict management, substance use, intellectual difficulties, neurodiversity support, sleep concerns, and parenting more generally.

Gaby provides her clients with a safe and supportive environment in which to heal and grow. She is highly skilled at integrating a range of evidence-based therapies to meet the individual needs of her clients. Gaby is a qualified facilitator of a range of parenting groups including; Reparative Parenting Program for foster and kinship carers, Tuning into kids: Emotionally Intelligent Parenting and Bringing up Great Kids. Gaby’s work is client centred, family focused and holistic. She understands the value of working together with her clients’ wider system including parents, carers, teachers and relevant professionals to ensure best outcomes.

Gaby has extensive experience providing independent expert family reports in family law parenting matters as well as assessments for the diagnosis, treatment and management of Court Diversion Programs of the Drug Court of NSW.  As part of the assessment team for the Community Paediatric Clinics for Vulnerable children, Gaby also has over 10 years’ clinical experience providing diagnostic assessments for at risk children, family assessments of children and young people with complex health and behavioural needs.

Melanie Brookes

Dr Melanie Brookes

Dr Melanie Brookes holds a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology and a Masters of Science from The University of Sydney. She enjoys working with individual adults and couples. Melanie works with a broad range of psychological challenges, with an interest in perinatal psychology and fertility, anxiety, mood and adjustment disorders. Melanie works within the modalities of CBT, ACT, EMDR, and Schema therapy, whilst also being informed by psychodynamic approaches such as ISTDP. Melanie is also a trained couples therapist, working within the The Gottman Method framework. She has a warm, compassionate approach to her work.

Laura Mobbs

Laura completed a Masters of Clinical Psychology at Western Sydney University and a Bachelor of Psychology with first class honours at Macquarie University. Laura is a warm and compassionate psychologist who conducts therapy and assessments. She works with a diverse range of presenting concerns in children and adults including; ADHD, anxiety, depression, study and work stress, burnout, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, relationship difficulties, and grief. She uses evidence-based modalities including CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and is an accredited Cool Kids provider. Laura offers comprehensive assessments for children and adults in the areas of ADHD, learning and academic abilities, memory, and intellectual assessment.

Laura has a wide range of clinical experience ranging from acute inpatient settings, private practice, school based interventions, specialised child services and university mental health clinics. Laura has a special interest in working with children aged 5 years to 12 years experiencing anxiety, adjustment issues such as family changes and loss, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and behaviours such as non-compliance, aggression and temper tantrums. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy is a specialised therapy for children with behavioural problems that focuses on establishing a warm and secure relationship between child and parent and strategies to increase compliance and prosocial behaviour. Laura is also an accredited Cool Kids provider, a structured program that teaches children and their parents how to better manage childhood anxiety.

Laura recognises the importance of adapting her approach to suit the specific needs and values of the client, and she aims to connect authentically with each individual to work on their specific goals. She offers in-person and telehealth options.

Dr Ben Huntingdon

Ben is a clinical psychologist with Doctor of Clinical Psychology and PhD degrees from the University of Sydney, where he also maintains involvement in psychology research. Ben has strong experience assisting adults with mood, anxiety, and interpersonal challenges, as well as eating disorders, long COVID syndrome, chronic fatigue, and myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME). Ben works from a psychodynamic perspective, informed by Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). This approach focuses on the underlying emotions, motivations, and life experiences that contribute to a client’s suffering and symptoms. He prioritises collaborative decision-making, meaning that therapy is tailored to the preferences of each individual. Ben is also trained in Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA).

Julia Roth

Julia is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience across Germany and Australia. She completed a Bachelor and Masters degree in clinical psychology in Germany, and completed the 6-year postgraduate training program in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Berlin Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. Julia supports adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, relationship problems, interpersonal conflicts and difficulties in adjusting to life transitions and health challenges. Working within a psychodynamic framework, Julia helps individuals resolve current symptoms and challenges, while also exploring the deeper, underlying roots of their difficulties. Julia’s approach is grounded in the view that early life experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, often leaving emotional wounds that can resurface later in life and contribute to psychological distress. These may show up as perfectionism, self-criticism, difficulties in relationships, or challenges in managing certain emotions and impulses.  Julia also integrates solution-focused techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Angie Matheson

Angie holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University and has worked across both public health and private practice settings. She supports adolescents and adults with concerns including anxiety, mood disorders, impacts of trauma, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, relationship difficulties, and personality concerns, with a strong interest in supporting LGBTQIA+ clients. Adapting to the needs and preferences of each person, she uses a variety of evidence-based approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), enhanced CBT for eating disorders (CBT-E), and neurodiversity-affirming care. Angie takes a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to therapy, bringing empathy, curiosity, and a gentle sense of humour to her work. She supports people to build upon their strengths and create change that feels meaningful and lasting.

Ryan Kennedy

Ryan holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and has clinical experience in adult community mental health, workplace, and family psychology across government and private roles. He believes in creating an open-minded, non-judgemental and respectful space to address both current problems and underlying causes and working together with clients to help them build insight and skills to achieve their goals and enrich their lives. Ryan supports adults and adolescents with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety and mood disorders, (complex) trauma, personality difficulties, and has a particular interest in relationships, life transitions, and existential psychology. He welcomes clients who identify as LGBQTI and neurodiverse, and those in non-traditional relationships (e.g., ethical non monogamy, polyamory). He believes that therapy does not need to be overly serious and brings a warm and friendly energy to sessions. Ryan takes a collaborative approach to match the right therapeutic strategies to the right person, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic therapy approaches, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT). Daniel Urquhart

Dan holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science from the University of NSW and a Masters of Psychotherapy and Counselling from Western Sydney University. He specialises in supporting couples and individuals experiencing complex trauma, childhood trauma, PTSD, and those affected by domestic violence. Dan offers inclusive therapeutic services for the LGBTIQA+ community, couples experiencing relationship challenges, and adults with autism and ADHD. Whether supporting individuals through trauma recovery or working with couples to rebuild intimacy, Dan creates a compassionate space where clients can explore patterns and develop pathways to healing and connection. He tailors his approach to your unique needs and goals, integrating evidence-based modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), systemic therapy, narrative therapy, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care.
