Julia is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience across Germany and Australia. She completed a Bachelor and Masters degree in clinical psychology in Germany, and completed the 6-year postgraduate training program in psychodynamic psychotherapy from the Berlin Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
Julia supports adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, relationship problems, interpersonal conflicts and difficulties in adjusting to life transitions and health challenges.
Working within a psychodynamic framework, Julia helps individuals resolve current symptoms and challenges, while also exploring the deeper, underlying roots of their difficulties.
Julia’s approach is grounded in the view that early life experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, often leaving emotional wounds that can resurface later in life and contribute to psychological distress. These may show up as perfectionism, self-criticism, difficulties in relationships, or challenges in managing certain emotions and impulses. Julia also integrates solution-focused techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Julia has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including private practices, community mental health services, crisis intervention and mental health hospitals. Her true passion lies in private practice, where she can support individuals overcome their unique difficulties and to live a happier and more fulfilling life. Her therapeutic style is warm, trauma- and attachment-informed, compassionate, and authentic, taking each individual’s needs and preferences into account. Julia offers therapy in-person and online, in English and German.
